Behold…Thou Art Thy Lips!

20 Mar

I was in a hurry working my make up for an event where I organized until I realized shortly I ran out of lipstick! I mean I have a bunch of these lip coloring stuffs, but what was used up was the exact lip color accurate for my outfit. That was actually a total disaster especially in that instant where I need to rush. Of course I cannot just simply wear the wrong kind of lip color. It would look as though my face and lips were separated from each other.  So what did I do? Hastily I excavated all my lipsticks in the kit, blended set of lip colors and tested them on until I achieved the desired color, just the thing for what I was wearing. What a shame, but that was the slightest thing I could do than not having worked anything out, at all. Who cares?

Image3 FACTS:

  1. Men are more interested in a woman’s lips than any other part of the body.

According to the Lipstick Queen, Poppy King, there is a study carried out by Manchester University that has proven that fact. According to the study that tracked men’s eyes when presented with women’s pictures, men spent the first 10 seconds staring at the lips before looking anywhere else on the female landscape. (Anywhere else, including yes, the breasts). Ow-ow!  They spent even longer lingering on the lips when the lips in question were wearing lipstick. Erm, better ask the great husband if this is true! 😀

  1. It is the most important part of the fashion and style.

Pushpita Gosh, the author of “Why Lipstick Is the Second Best friend of Women” says “each and every woman of every generation must have a lipstick in their make up kit.  Lipstick can express a hundred expressions of the heart. Without lipstick a woman’s make-up remains incomplete. Lipstick is an essential part of our life. It has the power to enhance the beauty of women”. I do agree. Lipstick changes the way the lips appear in quite obvious ways. It heightens the lips, making it more full and alluring. I feel “in the buff” without lipstick or any gloss on.

  1.  It has vitality in increasing your confidence.

“Pour yourself a drink, put on your lipstick, and pull yourself together”. I just love that line of Elizabeth Taylor. How powerful! When faced with upsetting, nail-biting, stressful moments, yes, lipstick helps! It can actually boost your confidence as it conceals the reality of “sullenness” that is present in the color of your mouth. As they say, it not just about fashion, it is confidence. It helps in making you feel good where you don’t have to worry about what your lips look like. As the lipstick queen says, admiring what our mouths look like is a step in understanding that we have much to say! Image

So, GO AHEAD and Wear the LAWS. Here are some tips to delight you from the lipstick authority!

3 Tips on wearing red lip color:

1. minimal eye make up

2. apply the lipstick before your eye makeup so that you know when enough eye makeup is enough with red

3. minimize the jewelry, let the lips be a statement

8 Rules to apply Lipstick:

  • Use a deep color lipstick but have a light makeup or vice versa.
  • If anyone has a very curvy lip,  put the liner from outside of the lip and apply a bit of gloss in the middle of the inner lips.
  • To get a long lasting lipstick one must make the base with the liner and then fill the lips with proper shade.
  • One must avoid darker liner with a light shade lipsticks. Always match the hue of the lip liner and the lipstick.
  • If the user want to test the color of the lipstick used by some one else then it is important that you should use it using your fingers instead of applying it on the lips directly. As it is unhealthy.
  • Use different tints of lip stick to get a new one. It is very unique and it will give the user the essence of difference from the rest.
  • While drinking water one must be careful. There should not be any mark left on the glass.
  • Matured ladies should not use matte or glossy lipsticks. They should use creamier or soft colors as it can hide the wrinkles.
